About Mimi Lee, MD:
Dr. Mimi Lee (Moyuen Mimi Lee) is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is also certified in vascular sonography (RVT & RPVI) and is leading Arkansas in minimally invasive vein treatments. A graduate of the University of Florida with Phi Beta Kappa honor, Dr. Lee received her medical degree from University of Miami where she was also expertly trained as a surgeon. In 2002, she was the FIRST physician in Arkansas to perform “CLOSURE” ablation treatment for varicose veins. As a pioneer in minimally invasive vein treatments, Dr. Lee has lectured at medical meetings. She also consulted with medical directors and has been instrumental in getting local insurance companies such as Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield and Municipal Health to recognize the endoluminal ablation or Closure procedure as a treatment option for varicose veins. She has been featured in Arkansas Democrat Gazette, KARK’s Arkansas Showcase, and FOX 16 news. She has performed more than 1,800 Closure procedures and enjoys a large referral base of physicians and established patients from Arkansas and neighboring states. Dr. Lee is also a member of American College of Phlebology which is a medical society with a mission to improve the standards of practice and patient care related to venous disorders. As an experienced clinician, Dr. Lee’s clinic is also a training center that provides education and observational opportunities for visiting physicians for the VNUS Closure procedure.
Dr. Lee’s practice encompasses a broad range of venous disease – from cosmetic spider veins and hand veins to complicated varicose veins. Most treatments are performed at her office including the most advanced “no stripping” treatment like the Closure (or now ClosureFAST) procedure. The office based approach translates into safer and more expeditious care for patients, avoiding hospitalization and the risk of general anesthesia. Patient financial responsibility is also reduced when hospital and/or anesthesia service is eliminated.
Dr. Lee also provides aesthetic treatment for facial wrinkles with Botox® Cosmetic and Dermal Fillers such as Radiesse and Juvederm. Dr. Lee personally performs all the injections and with her more than 10 years experience of microinjections, she delivers accurate results while maximizing patient comfort.
